In 9 July 2009 morning, His Majesty the King was presiding over the Forestation Day, in Trapeang Chrey commune , Kra Kor district in Pursat province. Accompanying His Majesty, Samdech Chauvea Veang Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister and Royal Palace Minister, H.E. Mr Yim Chhay Ly, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Rehabilitation and Development rural Council, H.E. Mr Pol Saroeun, Chief of Staff of the Khmer Royal Army, members of Parliaments, government officials, diplomats, and representatives from various international organizations who work for Cambodia’s forest preservation. His Excellency M. Khoy Sokha, governor of Pursat, delivered a welcoming address while thanking His Majesty for Her presence. H.E. Mr Chan Sarun, Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery outlined Cambodian forests for the last year. His Majesty the King conversed with local authorities and population.
