On 9 May 2012 morning, HM the King Norodom Sihamoni presided over the Royal Ploughing Ceremony in Preah Meru Court. On Royal escort, Samdech Heng Samrin National Assembly President and his Deputy Prime Minister, Samdech Chauvea Veang Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace, H.R.H. Princess Norodom Bupha Devi, H. R.H Princess Norodom Marie, H.E. Mr. Nguon Niel first vice President of the National Assembly, H.E. Mr. Say Chhoum first vice President of the Senate, H.E. Mr. Ek Sam Ol President of the Constitutional council. Also Present, Members of the Royal Family, Parliamentarians, Senators, Government Officials, Diplomatic Corps, Representatives from international Organizations which have contributed to the agricultural development in the Kingdom, Representatives of farmers and other Institution representatives in the Kingdom. At the end of the ceremony, HM the King provide donations to the 48 farmers representatives, each of them received clothes, chooses, a kit with bedding and 100,000 riels.
