On 21 December 2008 at the Khemarin Palace HM the King received in audience Mrs. Chenda Smead vice- president of the Public Affairs Coordination in the US and member of the Ministerial Council of High Education in Cambodia and advisor to the Harpwell Foundation and other members from the US . Mrs Smead was relating the Foundation activities since 2005 when she was an active member of the Philan Thropic Project in Cambodia . Mrs Smead coordinated her activities with those of Mr Bernard Krisher in charge of US Humanitarian aid for Cambodia . An elementary school in Siem Reap, and subventions to the Punleu Anakut of children in Phnom Penh are among the Foundation realizations. Through Mrs, Smead and Professor Alan Lightman president of the Harpwell Foundation an important centre for poor children studying at universities in Phnom Penh has been provided. In addition Mrs. Smead granted scholarship and financial assistance to schoolchildren.
