On November 9, 2007, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni presided over the celebration of the 54th anniversary of the Independence of Cambodia at the Independence Monument attended by the members of the Senate led by Samdech Akka Mohathammpothisal Chea Sim, by the members of the National Assembly led by Samdech Akka Mohachakrey Heng Samrin, and by the the Royal Government of Cambodia led by Samdech Akka Mohasenapadey Decho Hun Sen.
