On March 20, 2006, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Senate's 2nd Term. Among the high ranking personalities invited to attend this ceremony, there were Samdech Heng Samrin, President ad interim of the National Assembly, and Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of accredited countries to Cambodia. On this occasion, the 61 members of the Senate had to elect their President and their Vice-Presidents. Samdech Chea Sim and Samdech Sisowath Chivamonirak were respectively re-elected as President and 1st Vice-President and HE Mr. Tep Ngon was elected 2nd Vice-President.
