On 1st October 2010 H.M. the King attended the « National Day of China Expo 2010 Shanghai » in Shanghai, a national day commemorating the 61st anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China: 1949 - 2010. Also present on this solemn occasion, the President of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the PRC, H.E. M. Wu Bagguo and his spouse, and leaders from friendly countries. S.E. M. Wu Bagguo delivered a welcoming speech before inaugurating the opening ceremony. A luncheon was hosted in honor of H.M. the King and the distinguished delegations by H.E. Mr. Wang Cishan, Deputy Prime Minister of China and President of the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
