9 November 1953 is a historic date for the Cambodian people when Cambodia became independent from French Protectorate. It was the day when His Majesty King-Father NORODOM SIHANOUK « Preah Borom Rattanak Kaudh » achieved Independence for the Kingdom. On 9 November 2021, His Majesty King NORODOM SIHAMONI of Cambodia presided over a torch-lighting ceremony at the Independence Monument.
