9 November 1953 is a historic date for the Cambodian people when Cambodia became independent from French Protectorate. It was the day when His Majesty King-Father NORODOM SIHANOUK « Preah Borom Rattanak Kaudh » achieved independence for His country. On 9 November 2017, His Majesty King NORODOM SIHAMONI of Cambodia presided over the 64th Independence Day commemoration, at the Independence Monument.
